Secrets of the Culture Sauna


There is a secret place in Helsinki, a place that doesn’t want any publicity. The place is called Culture Sauna and it is one of the very few public saunas in Helsinki, located in Hakaniemenranta. The project was a part of Helsinki World Design Capital year, but at the end the sauna was opened to public in spring 2013. Finnish-Japanese couple Nene Tsuboi and Tuomas Toivonen have designed the sauna together and the simple and functional outlook combines beautifully the two cultures.

I visited the sauna together with three friends, and we were lucky enough to be let in even though they have “limited access to groups” (I didn’t realize that four people would be considered as a group).
